Lembaga Mitra Solusi Teknologi Informasi (L-MSTI) and its 15 managed journals are committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. We strictly adhere to guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), national accreditation standards (SINTA / ARJUNA), and Crossref protocols. All participating parties—authors, peer reviewers, editors, and publishers—must uphold ethical principles and professional conduct throughout the publishing lifecycle.

We operate in full alignment with international best practices established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). We ensure that every individual involved in the publication process—including authors, peer reviewers, editors, and publishing staff—adheres strictly to transparent, fair, and professional academic standards.

Ethical Responsibilities & Code of Conduct

Ethical publication requires active compliance and mutual trust among all stakeholders in the publishing ecosystem:

Authors' Responsibilities
  • Ensure original, unplagiarized, and scientifically sound research.
  • Properly cite and reference all third-party literature and sources.
  • Disclose all potential financial or personal conflicts of interest.
  • Verify accuracy of raw data and submit the 4 Mandatory Declarations.
  • Disclose any permitted usage of AI tools prior to References.
Editors' Responsibilities
  • Render objective, fair, and unbiased editorial decisions based on merit.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of submitted manuscript files.
  • Recuse themselves from handling submissions with conflicts of interest.
  • Enforce rigorous double-blind peer review and plagiarism screening.
  • Investigate ethical concerns and misconduct allegations promptly.
Reviewers' Responsibilities
  • Provide constructive, evidence-based, and objective peer evaluations.
  • Maintain strict manuscript confidentiality and refrain from using unreleased code/data.
  • Declare any potential competing interests prior to accepting review invitations.
  • Complete evaluations within specified deadlines (14–21 days).
  • Identify potential ethical issues, overlap, or citation manipulation.
Publisher's Responsibilities
  • Protect and respect independent editorial decision-making.
  • Maintain digital preservation networks (LOCKSS, CLOCKSS, PKP-PN).
  • Ensure transparent fee, licensing, and Open Access policies.
  • Handle post-publication corrections, errata, and COPE retractions.
  • Provide secure technical infrastructure (OJS 3.4.0-11).

Core Ethical Standards & Screening Protocols

  • 1. Plagiarism & Overlap Screening: Zero tolerance for plagiarism. Every manuscript is automatically audited using iThenticate, Turnitin, and Copyleaks upon submission. Manuscripts exceeding an overall 20% similarity threshold are rejected or returned.
  • 2. Data Fabrication & Falsification: Fabrication, alteration, or selective reporting of empirical findings, code outputs, or medical/experimental data is strictly prohibited.
  • 3. Duplicate & Concurrent Submission: Manuscripts must represent original work that is not currently under consideration or published elsewhere.
  • 4. Authorship Criteria (CRediT Taxonomy): Authorship is restricted to contributors who made substantial intellectual contributions to research conception, design, execution, drafting, or critical revision. Ghost, guest, or gift authorship is forbidden.
  • 5. Conflicts of Interest: All financial, professional, or personal connections that could influence research findings must be declared upon submission.
  • 6. Human & Animal Subject Protection: Investigations involving human subjects or biological samples must prove compliance with relevant ethics committee approvals and informed consent protocols.
  • 7. AI-Generated Content Compliance: Transparent disclosure and ethical usage of generative artificial intelligence tools during research or manuscript preparation.

AI Detection & Generative AI Usage Policy

In response to advancements in generative artificial intelligence, L-MSTI has implemented explicit policies and automated detection mechanisms to ensure transparent, accountable, and ethical AI usage across all 15 journals:

AI Detection Audits

Submissions are evaluated using specialized AI-content identification tools alongside human peer review to verify authentic authorship.

Mandatory Disclosure

Authors must explicitly declare AI tool usage (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, etc.) prior to References, detailing the tool, version, and scope of use.

Acceptable Scope

Permitted AI assistance is strictly limited to proofreading, language refinement, translation assistance, and literature search organization.

Prohibited Scope

AI tools cannot be listed as authors/co-authors, generate entire manuscript sections, fabricate empirical data, or replace human analytical conclusions.

Handling Misconduct & Allegations

L-MSTI takes all allegations of research misconduct seriously. Investigations follow structured COPE flowcharts:

  1. Reporting Concern

    Formal submission of detailed evidence or misconduct notification to the Managing Editor or Editor-in-Chief.

  2. Independent Investigation

    Preliminary assessment by the handling editor, followed by confidential inquiry involving authors, reviewers, or institutional bodies.

  3. Corrective Action & Resolution

    Implementation of COPE-aligned outcomes, ranging from manuscript rejection, formal warning, Corrigenda publication, to article Retraction.

Corrections, Expressions of Concern & Retractions

When post-publication errors or ethical violations occur, L-MSTI maintains the integrity of the permanent scientific record through transparent mechanisms:

  • Corrigenda / Errata: Published to correct significant factual or typographical errors that do not alter the paper's core scientific conclusions.
  • Expressions of Concern: Issued by the Editor-in-Chief when serious, unresolved investigations regarding data or research integrity are ongoing.
  • Formal Retractions: Executed in strict compliance with COPE Retraction Guidelines when findings are proven unreliable, plagiarized, fabricated, or ethically compromised.
  • AI Misuse Violations: Manuscripts found to contain undisclosed or inappropriate generative AI usage post-publication are subject to immediate editorial inquiry and potential retraction.
