Privacy Statement

This Privacy Statement outlines how Lembaga Mitra Solusi Teknologi Informasi (L-MSTI) collects, processes, stores, and protects personal data provided by registered users, authors, peer reviewers, and visitors across our network of 15 multidisciplinary journals. Managed via Open Journal Systems (OJS 3.4), L-MSTI is committed to maintaining high standards of data privacy, compliance with regulatory guidelines, and transparency in academic publishing workflows.

1. Personal Information We Collect

The names, affiliations, email addresses, and contact details entered into this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of L-MSTI scientific journals and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

During user registration, manuscript submission, and peer review interactions, L-MSTI collects the following personal data categories:

  • Account Profile Data: Full name, institutional affiliation, country, email address, ORCID iD, phone number, bio statement, and reviewer expertise fields.
  • Submission Metadata: Author and co-author names, affiliations, email addresses, research contributions, article titles, abstracts, and funding disclosures.
  • Editorial Workflows: Peer review activity records, reviewer evaluations, editorial decision logs, and author-editor correspondence within OJS.
  • Technical Log Data: IP addresses, browser types, session cookies, and login timestamps recorded for system security and audit trails.

2. Purpose & Use of Collected Data

L-MSTI processes personal data solely to fulfill legitimate scholarly publishing operations:

Peer Review & Editorial Facilitating double-blind peer review, assigning reviewer invitations, editorial correspondence, and tracking submission progress.
Publication & Metadata Displaying author/co-author affiliations on published PDFs/HTML pages, transmitting Crossref DOI metadata, and index database feeds.
System Notifications Sending automated OJS status updates, password reset links, review requests, and official publisher announcements.
Indexing & Metrics Generating anonymized readership statistics, download tracking, and compliance reporting for scholarly indexing databases.

3. Data Sharing & Indexing Disclosures

L-MSTI does not sell, trade, or lease personal user data to third-party commercial vendors or advertising networks. Publicly published metadata (author names, affiliations, article titles, abstracts, ORCID iDs, and DOIs) are distributed under Open Access licenses to the following academic service providers:

  • Crossref: Registration of Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and publication metadata.
  • Indexing Repositories: Google Scholar, Dimensions, Garuda, SINTA, and subject-specific databases.
  • Public Knowledge Project (PKP): Technical platform processing and security software updates.

4. Data Security & Retention

All user data is stored securely on SSL-encrypted servers operated under L-MSTI supervision. We enforce role-based permission access within Open Journal Systems (OJS 3.4) to restrict unauthorized data viewing. User profile records are maintained as long as the account remains active, while published author metadata remains permanently linked to published literature to ensure scientific archival integrity.

5. User Rights & Data Control

Registered users maintain full control over their account profiles inside OJS:

  • Profile Edits: You can update or correct your personal details, affiliation, and email address at any time via "Edit Profile" in OJS.
  • Reviewer Status: Users can opt-in or opt-out of peer review invitations via profile notification settings.
  • Account Deletion: Users without active editorial or publication history may request full account deletion by contacting the data administrator.

6. Cookies Policy

OJS uses essential session cookies to maintain logged-in user sessions, track submission workflows, and store navigation preferences. These technical cookies do not harvest personal identification information and are required for the portal to function properly.
