Published on December 12, 2024, the second issue of the Journal Desktop Application (JDA) for Volume 3, Number 2, features a series of scholarly articles dedicated to the development and implementation of desktop-based information systems addressing a variety of community and administrative needs, primarily in Pidie Regency, Aceh, Indonesia. This edition highlights the transformative potential of customized software solutions in enhancing data management and operational efficiency across different contexts. One study introduces SIKEPI (Coffee Financial System), an innovative platform designed to digitize financial operations for the coffee farming community in Karangpring Village, promoting financial inclusion through technology. Another article details the development of a computer-based laboratory equipment record system at a state high school in Mutiara, Pidie Regency, aimed at improving resource tracking in educational settings. The issue also includes research on an information system for archiving incoming and outgoing mail at a regional office of PT. PLN in Sigli, Pidie Regency, streamlining correspondence management. Additionally, a paper discusses an information system for managing savings and loan group data under a community empowerment program in Peukan Baro Subdistrict, supporting local financial cooperatives. Lastly, the development and implementation of a computer-based system for recording damaged houses in Tangse District is presented, facilitating disaster response and recovery efforts with accurate data. Together, these contributions demonstrate the broad applicability and impact of desktop applications in addressing localized challenges, making this issue an essential reference for researchers and practitioners in desktop application development.
